“Puerto Rico Colombia ‘” Caribbean Connection.
This exhibit furthers the artistic and cultural exchanges that have existed for so long between the local Puerto Rican and Colombian communities of Chicago. Together in a celebration of art, language, music and food; the experiences of five Puerto Rican and five Colombian artists producing art in the area, reflecting the socio-cultural background of their country of origin, the Chicago experience, and their distinct Caribbean aesthetic.
“ReversO, is a performance in which the Colombian and Puerto Rican flag were painted on the chest of a model while the USA flag was painted on the lower area of the body, reversing the geographical position in the globe map; as well as calling for attention on the resentment of the so-called forgotten countries by the USA.
